Tulsa Was the Blueprint T-Shirt

WHY TULSA WAS THE BLUEPRINT

Wear your heritage with pride. The Tulsa Was the Blueprint T-shirt honors the enduring legacy of Greenwood, Oklahoma—once known as Black Wall Street—a thriving hub of Black entrepreneurship, culture, and resilience.(as.com)

In the early 1900s, Greenwood was a self-sustaining community where Black-owned businesses flourished. From luxury hotels and theaters to banks and schools, Greenwood was a testament to Black excellence and economic independence. This prosperity was tragically interrupted during the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, when a white mob destroyed over 1,000 homes and businesses, leaving thousands homeless and hundreds dead. (history.com, history.com)

Despite this devastation, the spirit of Greenwood endured. The community rebuilt, and today, the Historic Greenwood District continues to thrive, preserving its rich history and cultural significance. (history.com)
